I too had my issues with the FIS and ran the first stickers Ted Ligety talks about on the World Cup to show my disapproval back in 2000 in a low key way. I like his approach getting it out to the world. About time one of the athletes that has a voice isn't afraid to protect the well being of the sport, athletes, ski companies and the future progression of ski racing. His insight has a ton of value on the ski racing world. FIS needs to listen up when it comes from one of their own. An Olympic / World Champ, current World Cup GS leader and ski business owner who's directly affected by the rules. He's not bashing the FIS, but trying to give the ones who make the sport, the skiers, a little of the decision making power.

Excited to finally make one of the moto industries best racing weekends. "A Day In The Dirt", hosted by the Hollywood Film and Stunt Industry, put on by Troy Lee Designs and Red Bull. In the past I've been ski racing, but now I have time for Thanksgiving week at home with family, friends, surfing and riding moto. Tony and I pulled in like the other 700 riders to line up in individiual and team races for 11/26-27. This event draws all sorts of people who love to ride. From 5 year olds, to pros, to stunt men and weekend warriors. Everyone camps out and rides. This is not a typical race. You get to ride a long track with 5 minute plus lap times for 40mins in individual motos to 90mins team races.
I pulled off 5 motos and have blood blisters and flaps of skin on my hands to prove the track time.

Steve and Mitch were an important part of Red Bull's crew who made it happen.
My first race on the KTM 350 '12, after a wash, pulling in a 3rd Vet Int 450 and 2nd Open Int.

Hi Daron: We met at the Bonzai last year at Kirkwood apres ski party. Thanks again for the free helmet. It was nice chatting with you about Sugarloaf, Maine. Is there any chance you will have a 35 and older ski class, this year for the Banzai? You and Red Bull did a great job last year. I've also started making Outdoor Fitness Applications for kids as I don't want my 1 year old being stuck inside his whole life playing on the couch. I'd be honored if you'd take a look at our website sometime. I'll enter the Bonzai either way, but please don't let me kill myself competing with the young ones. :-) Cheers, Steve.

I was reading an old Skiing Magazine in which you commented that it took a few years before Hermann Maier would say hi to you by name--not until you'd beaten him a few times. You came up to my son in the gym in Truckee and introduced yourself to him. He's still jazzed about it. What a difference. Thanks.

My name is Justine Kaiser and I am the girl who was sking on the Access's when you were up here in Sun valley during the Hall of fame and freestyle legends week.You made mention that you would like me to write a review on the skis since you designed them and I would love to do so if you are still interested I'm currently visiting my familiy in Austria but will be back in a few weeks.I'm a coach on the Sun Valley Freestyle Team and both my husband and I love your skis. My husband works for Brent Hansen at Ski Tek here in town who is the oldest Atomic dealer here in Sun Valley.I was going to post a photo of us with the skis but I don't see how to add an attachment to this post. Anyway thanks for the great design we are thinking about getting some Blogs or chetlers next winter!

Thought you might be able to offer some advice Daron.This season I got the Atomic Access but found them not really stiff or damp enough for the speeds I wanted to travel at. I am considering the Blogs for next season as they are a little wider and have the 3 layer step down rather than the 2 (that the Access have). Can you offer any advice on the way he Blogs ski(as im not going to be able to demo) as i see your on te Blogs in your recent Banzai venue check. Thanks, Andy

Daron I once saw a video interview with you and you were showing some of the momentos you have collected over the years. One of them was a poster of what I think you described as the most insane downhill racing picture ever. It was a training pic of Darren Thorburn going into orbit off a jump at the top of Lake Louise. (I totally agree, that pic is sheer madness). I knew all those guys and hearing them tell the stories about training on that jump was nuts. But I can't find that picture anywhere on the internet, and the world HAS to see it! Can you help?? Thanks man and keep rippin'. -Mark

hop you remember me, im the young fella you met at galzigbahn early in the morning at the red bull hüttenrallye, who wanted a foto of you and me... i was really stoked to see you :) hope to see you again sometime in switzerland, it would be great to shred some powder once with you or just have a day of skiing somewhere... you made my day and my winter season!!! thank you very much!!! i now have printed the fotos and the one of me jumping (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1752483529388&set=a.1750710845072.2100076.1157901295) as a little souvenir of an awesome day in austria... take care and do what youre supposed to do, to ski & to rip it up!!!
